I had 2 overly ripened bananas that I didn’t want to throw away, so I was on the hunt for a simple recipe I could use them in. I came across this recipe on SuperHealthyKids.com and did my own take on it.
Ingredients:
2 ripened bananas
1 cup dry oatmeal
1/4 cup all natural peanut butter
Chocolate chips (optional, I used dairy and soy free chips)
Instructions:
1 – Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Find an 8×8 pan and grease with a little bit of spray oil or coconut oil.
2 – Mash bananas in a bowl and mix with peanut butter and oats to make the dough
3 – Spread the dough in the pan evenly and sprinkle with chocolate chips (optional)
4 – Bake for 20 minutes
5 – Remove from oven, let cool, and then cut into squares.
I ate one bar on the spot, and froze the rest. When I take them out to eat it only takes them about 15 minutes to defrost. I actually like eating them really cold, especially in this Michigan heat. They make a great pre/post workout snack in the morning, and are sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Dude…I'm making these tomorrow!!! I have a bunch of ripe bananas and just really am not feeling like making bread. These will be perfect 🙂
I love anything with peanut butter so this sounds great 🙂 thanks.
Yum and healthy. I probably could even use my sunflower seed butter. Perfect use of old bananas.
This is truly yummy and delicious! Love this!
Yum! My doctor recently told me my potassium level was low. So, I may actually try making these for myself!
