What’s in my Work Travel Bag? Makeup Edition…

Back to work for me! After an amazing 7 month maternity leave, it’s time to hit the ground running (or sprinting!) at work, and I’m off on my first trip to see a new client. I haven’t traveled for work in a long time, so I had to spend some extra time cleaning out my work bag and prepping for the trip.

In addition to all of my pumping gear (here’s a link to my post on Pumping While Traveling tips), I like to keep some of my makeup necessities in my work bag for easy touch ups when we land. We normally don’t have a lot of time between landing and meeting with our clients, so it’s nice to have easy access to my makeup.
Here are a few makeup must-haves I have packed for my up coming trip….
Hard Candy Lip Plumping Serum
I’m completely obsessing over this gloss. I normally get turned off as soon as ‘plumping’ is in the name, because I usually associate it with a burning and tingling feeling, but this gloss does not have that. In fact, it’s super moisturizing, with no tingling at all, and is long lasting. ‘First Kiss’ shade is hands down my favorite. It’s the perfect pinkish nude that goes with everything.

Vaseline Lip Therapy
No matter what time of year, flying always gives me dry skin and lips. I always keep a tin of Vaseline Lip Therapy in my bag. I have the original one pictured above, but I also use Aloe, Cocoa Butter, Rosy and their limited edition Pink Bubbly – I love them all.
IT Cosmetics CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder
I’m so obsessed with IT Cosmetics. IT Bye Bye Foundation is the only type of foundation I’ve tried that doesn’t break me out or irritate my skin. I use this foundation every morning, and I carry the CC+ Airbrush Perfecting Powder with me for touch ups when traveling. This powder is great for my sensitive skin and doesn’t irritate it all. It provides great coverage while taking away any shininess. I use the light shade in the fall/winter, and Medium in the summer.

This compact goes everywhere with me. I love that its a bronzer, blush and highlighter, all in one. You can sweep them on together as a blend, or use a small brush to use them separately, which I often do. Added bonus – it comes with an IT Cosmetics brush, and in my opinion, are the best brushes! I also love that it has a mirror inside. This comes in 3 different shades, Natural, Nude and Warm.

Fun pouch to keep everything in
I love a good makeup bag. The one above is from the Target dollar bin.

What’s in your work bag? I’d love to know – please comment below!

  1. I too love IT cosmetics! They are so light-weight. It feels lilke you don’t even have any make-up on. Thx again for such great tips!
