6 Must-Have Pieces to Add to Your Spring Wardrobe

It’s getting to be a consistent 60-70 degrees in Michigan and all signs are pointing to summer coming soon. I’m not quite ready to wear sundresses and sandals, but it’s definitely time to start transitioning.

Here are my wardrobe ‘must-haves’ for transitioning from Spring to Summer:

A Scarf – They are not just for Fall and Winter! A thin cotton scarf can totally transition an outfit. I’m so in love with this pastel scarf I purchased from Rosy’s Boutique in downtown Brighton, I sometimes plan my entire outfit around it.

A Jean Jacket – Similar to a cardigan, it’s a great transitional piece to throw over a dress at night or when in an air conditioned building. I live in my jean jacket all summer long. It’s a staple at my desk and when traveling.

Cardigan – Similar to a jean jacket, it’s nice to have a transitional cardigan to throw over a flowy tank top and jeans or a dress to stay warm when it gets cooler at night. I like sweaters that have longer sleeves and go over my hands, like this one I purchased from Rosy’s Boutique. Thumb holes in sweaters may be one of the best inventions (up there with lip gloss and wedge heels). And I love that this one has pockets.

A flowy tank – I love how this can transition from day to night. I can wear a tank + jeans + a blazer for work, and then remove the blazer at night and be ready to go out for a date night.

Skinny jeans – I wear these year round, but I especially love to pair them with a tank and wedges for Spring.

Rain boots – Fun rain boots can be stylish and practical. We’ve had a lot of rainy days this season, and I’m loving these boots I purchased from Target a few years back. Check out the fun styles here.

  1. I practically live in skinny jeans year-round. Cardigans and scarves are great for spring, cooler summer nights, and, later in the year, the transition to fall.
